Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Policy

Analyzing the CSR report of HUL, it is seen that HUL has socially committed to establish sustainable business in India. The company CSR policy was established in September 2014 but amended in April 2022 to outline how the company would venture to make a positive difference on environmental settings, people, and the world at large. 2. Government Institutions: Working with ministries for the broader aimed intercessions.
3. Educational Institutions: The cooperation with schools and universities in order to support education and skills development.

Required Documents for CSR Proposals

1. Project Proposal: A project proposal file containing the project objective and scope, budget estimate and expected results.
2. Registration Certificates: Certified true copies of registration certificate under Societies Registration Act or Indian trusts Act as the case may be.
3. Financial Statements: Voluminous and audited financial records of the organisation for the last three financial years.
4. NGO Darpan ID: Registration particulars to the online NGO Darpan portal (if applicable).
5. Tax Exemption Certificates: Other official papers such as 12A and 80G that provide a stamp of authenticity that the Organisation is exempt from taxes.
6. Past Experience: Stakeholders include reports of previous work in comparable industries or CSR projects as well as performance and efficacy evaluations.

Payment Ratio and Budget Allocation

HUL complies with Companies Act of 2013 wherein it requires that the organisation spends 2% of the average of its net profits from the last three financial years on CSR activities. The rates for projects are being resolved based on the gross and extent of the idea and, as a rule, the payments are being made in parts, on the reach and frequency of the project reviews or phases.

The CSR programmer implemented at HUL are operational continuously, and thus, there is no defined timeline within which the CSR proposals have to be tendered. Any organisation that wants to participate in the programmer can apply on HUL’s online CSR portal or otherwise, approach the relevant departments of the Company at any time as the process of evaluation is ongoing.
