Empowering Haryana’s Youth: Skill Development Through DDU-GKY 2.0

Haryana State Rural Livelihoods Mission (HSRLM) is taking a significant step toward empowering the rural youth of Haryana by launching DDU-GKY 2.0—an enhanced skill development initiative under the Ministry of Rural Development’s flagship program. This initiative is designed to train and place rural youth in gainful employment, addressing the skills gap in India’s growing economy.

What is DDU-GKY 2.0?

Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) is a national-level program that focuses on skill development and job placement for youth aged 15–35 years from rural areas. DDU-GKY 2.0 builds upon the foundation of the original scheme with a renewed emphasis on quality training, inclusive growth, and measurable outcomes.

In Haryana, HSRLM is leading the implementation of DDU-GKY 2.0, inviting Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs) to help train 1,846 candidates through residential training programs, with a strong focus on employment outcomes.

Why DDU-GKY 2.0 Matters

Enhanced Employability

Candidates receive industry-relevant training in high-demand sectors, giving them the tools to secure sustainable, well-paying jobs.

Improved Livelihoods

The program ensures placements with minimum wage or above, improving the economic conditions of youth and their families.

Inclusive Development

Special emphasis is placed on vulnerable and marginalized groups, such as:

  • Manual scavengers
  • Transgender individuals
  • People with disabilities
  • Rehabilitated bonded laborers
  • Survivors of trafficking
  • Youth from aspirational districts like Mewat

Scope and Deadlines :-

HSRLM seeks PIAs to provide residential skill training and ensure job placements for 1,846 youth.
