The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) 2.0 is set to transform the skilling landscape for rural youth in Uttar Pradesh. Implemented under the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) and the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), this ambitious project aims to skill 20,000 rural youth in the financial year 2025–26 and ensure meaningful employment opportunities.

What is DDU-GKY 2.0?

DDU-GKY 2.0 is the upgraded version of the earlier rural skilling mission focused on creating an economically independent and globally employable workforce. The program ensures not just training but also verifiable placements through both wage and self-employment in line with skill training received.

Key Features of DDU-GKY 2.0:-

Target & Scope :

  • Skilling target: 20,000 rural youth in UP (2025–26).
  • Focus on aspirational districts, special categories like persons with disabilities, manual scavengers, and women-headed households.
  • Placement-linked training with minimum 70% placement mandate.

Timeline :

  • Training completion: By December 31, 2025.
  • Placement completion: By March 31, 2026.

Training Guidelines :

Course duration: Minimum 3 months / 576 hours.

  • Domain training: 396 hours
  • Non-domain training: 180 hours
  • Maximum domain training hours: 600 hours
    No clubbing of QPs (Qualification Packs), but micro-credentials can be added.

Eligible Sectors:

  • Retail
  • Apparel & Furnishing
  • Healthcare
  • IT-ITeS
  • Telecom
  • Hospitality & Tourism
  • Futuristic Job Roles.

Placement Requirements:

  • Minimum salary (within India): ₹12,000/month or applicable minimum wage.
  • Overseas placement salary: ₹25,000/month.
  • Cross-sector placement allowed only with 20% higher salary.
  • Proof of placement: Salary credited in bank account, gig income, or self-employment credit linkage.
  • Self-employment supported through credit linkage and incentives.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility for PIAs:

✅ Eligible Entities:

  • Registered legal entities under Trusts, Societies, Companies Act, LLP Act, SHGs, Govt. orgs, NGOs (NITI Aayog registered).
  • More than 3 years old (except Startups).
  • Must not be blacklisted.
  • Must have positive net worth.

PRN (Permanent Registration Number) from MoRD is required.

📄 Government Fees:

  • ₹25,000 (Initial Screening – non-refundable)
  • ₹1,25,000 + GST (Qualitative Appraisal – post-screening)
  • Payable to: Mission Director, UPSDM.
